Vias also boasts an excellently preserved architectural heritage. Running east to west, the Canel du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, bisects the town. The seaside resort of Vias-Plage stretches along the coast. The town offers a wide range of shops and services. In July and August, the town puts on a variety of events, most popularly the jazz festival.
